Oh wow, are you really a game artist? I had never heard of RQII, but it's really neat to see professional artists on dA often.

The use of warm colors is really neat too :3

Yes I am :) RuneQuest is a quite old rpg game, the first edition came out in 1978 and at the time it was very popular, surpassed only by D&D.

My character has three griffin feathers. The party killed three when we had a random encounter with griffin tamers camping an egg.

Beaustiful work, especially like the sttention to detail, and the background is an odd choice, but it works really well

Thanks! The background actually came later (there should be another version as well), the original had a transparent BG since it was for a book.

Wow... this has some amazing artwork and the colors and realism to this is just amazing. Where did that horse eating thing come from anyways? Never heard that in folktales.

From nowhere actually, I just wanted to treat it like a real animal and give an idea of its scale :)

So, she could eat the horse and then fly back to her den to feed a baby hippogryph. And the horse she had just killed and eaten was the hippogryphs father who had mated with her earlier in the year or whatever, and had come back to see her and got a little too close... You should draw that!

You did an awesome Job here, I can almost Imagine a David Attenborough documentary voice over...

"And here we see the proud Griffin, defending it's kill from scavengers. Once she has eaten her fill, she will take the carcass back to the cubs..."

Thank you! That is actually the idea, I think it could be seen as a flaw when it comes to fantasy, but I can't do anything about that: I see even the scariest creature just as an animal, they can have a predatory behavior, spit acid, destroy villages, but in the end it's only their nature not their fault, I'm happy you noticed that on this work :) (and sorry for the late reply)
